Command Master Chief 1st Dental Battalion
HMCM(FMF/SW/IW) Steven L. Hart

Master Chief Hart assumed his current post as the Command Master Chief for 1st Dental Battalion/Naval Dental Center Camp Pendleton, California on November 06, 2019.  A native of Franklinton, LA., he began his naval career at Recruit Training Command (RTC) Great Lakes, followed by Hospital Corpsman “A” School in Great Lakes, Illinois, in November 1993.

Throughout his career, Master Chief Hart has been assigned numerous duties to include; General Duty Corpsman, Patient Administration Corpsman, Basic Radiologic Technologist, Assistant Leading Petty Officer, Advanced Radiologic Technologist, Ultrasound Technologists, Leading Petty Officer, Command DAPA, Company Gunny, Assistant Triage Chief, Departmental Leading Chief Petty Officer, and Senior Enlisted Leader for Administration, Medical, and Surgical Services.

Master Chief Hart previous sea duty commands include 1st Marine Logistics Group, USS CLEVELAND (LPD 7) (Pacific Partnership 2011), 3rd Marine Logistics Group, and USS NEW ORLEANS (LPD 18).

Previous shore duties include; Naval Hospital Millington, TN., Naval Ambulatory Care Center Port Hueneme, CA., Field Medical Service School (Student), Naval School Health Sciences, (Student, Basic and Advanced Radiology “C” School), Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton Fleet Hospital Detachment, Naval Hospital Okinawa, and Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton.

He has deployed to Iraq with 1st Marine Logistics Group in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 05-07.1; 3d Marine Logistic Group he planned and participated in twelve civic and humanitarian missions throughout South East Asia, Pacific Partnership 2011 onboard USS CLEVELAND (LPD 7) and HMAS BETANO (L 133), and Two Western Pacific Deployments onboard USS NEW ORLEANS (LPD 18).

Master Chief Hart is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy Class 174 (Gold) and holds a Bachelor's of Science in Healthcare Management from Southern Illinois University.

His warfare qualifications include:  Enlisted Fleet Marine Force Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, and Information Warfare Specialist.  He is also qualified as Afloat Training Specialist (ATS).

Hart’s personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal six awards, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with three Gold Starts, Navy Good Conduct Medal (six awards), the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal (two awards) and various unit and campaign awards.
