Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Warren

Commanding Officer, 1st Transportation Battalion

Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Warren, a native of Cumberland Rhode Island, graduated from The Citadel in May of 1997 and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps.

After attending The Basic School and Motor Transport Officer’s Course, he joined Headquarters Battalion, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center (MCAGCC) in Twentynine Palms, California and served as the MCAGCC Transportation Operations Officer.  Shortly thereafter, he was transferred to 2d Battalion, 7th Marines Regiment where he served as the Battalion Motor Transport Platoon Commander, Maintenance Management Officer, and Assistant Logistics Officer.  During this time, Lieutenant Colonel Warren participated in the III Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) Unit Deployment Program in Okinawa, Japan.

In July of 2001, Lieutenant Colonel Warren was transferred to United States Marine Corps Forces, Korea where he served as the Deputy G-4 for two years.  Upon completion of this assignment, he attended Expeditionary Warfare School in Quantico Virginia.  He subsequently served as an Officer Candidate School (OCS) Platoon Commander as part of the OCS summer augmentation program.

In September of 2004, he reported to the 2d Force Service Support Group in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina where he served as the 2d Transportation Support Battalion (TSB) Assistant Operations Officer, Combat Logistics Regiment 25 Assistant Operations Officer, 2d TSB Charlie Company Commander, and Combat Logistics Battalion 2 Transportation Support Company Commander.  During this time, Lieutenant Colonel Warren participated in two deployments to Iraq.

In October of 2007, Lieutenant Colonel Warren was transferred to Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego where he served as the Recruit Training Regiment Logistics Officer and 3d Recruit Training Battalion Executive Officer.

In August of 2010, he reported to Marine Corps University in Quantico Virginia and attended the Marine Corps’ Command and Staff College and School of Advanced Warfighting.

In July of 2012, Lieutenant Colonel Warren reported to 1st Marine Logistics Group (MLG) in Camp Pendleton California and served as the 1st MLG G-3 Plans Officer.  During this time, he participated in a deployment to Afghanistan.  In August of 2014, Lieutenant Colonel Warren was assigned to 1st Transportation Support Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 1.

Lieutenant Colonel Warren has served in each of the three MEFs and has also represented the Camp Butler, Marine Corps Base Quantico, and Camp Lejeune Rugby Teams throughout his career.  He is married to the former Ms. Edna Mauleon from Batangas, Philippines.  They have a son and daughter, Donald and Cassidy.
