First Sergeant Wodkowski enlisted in the Marine Corps in July, 1996 and completed recruit training at MCRD San Diego. Upon graduating from recruit training, he reported to the School of Infantry at Camp Pendleton, California for training as an 0331, Machine gunner.
Private First Class Wodkowski reported to Weapons Company, 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, Twenty-nine Palms, California, in March 1997 where he served as an Ammo Man, Vehicle Commander, and Section Leader within the Combined Arms Anti-Tank Platoon. While in 1st Battalion, 7th Marines he participated in two Unit Deployment Programs to Okinawa, Japan including the Combined Arms Readiness Afloat Training exercise.
In November 2000, Corporal Wodkowski reported the Basic Security Guard School, Chesapeake, Virginia. Upon completion of Security Force School, Sergeant Wodkowski reported to 2D Fleet Anti-Terrorism Team Company, Yorktown, Virginia, where he served as a Squad Leader and Platoon Guide. He participated in three unit deployments to include combat operations in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
In January 2004, Sergeant Wodkowski reported to Company K, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines, Camp Pendleton, California, where he served as Machinegun Section Leader and Weapons Platoon Sergeant. During his tour with 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines, he participated in two combat deployments, including Operation Phantom Fury, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
In October 2006, Staff Sergeant Wodkowski reported to the Basic Recruiters Course, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California. Graduating with honors, he was assigned to Permanent Contact Station Sault Ste. Marie, Recruiting Sub-Station Gaylord, Recruiting Station, Lansing, Michigan. There he served as a Production Recruiter and Recruiting Sub-Station Staff Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge.
In November 2009, Gunnery Sergeant Wodkowski reported to Company C, 1st Battalion, 5th Marines, Camp Pendleton, California, for duty as Company Gunnery Sergeant. He deployed to Sangin, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and once again to Okinawa, Japan in support of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit
In July 2013, First Sergeant Wodkowski reported for duty to Combat Logistics Company 13, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, Ca. Here he currently serves as the Company First Sergeant.
First Sergeant Wodkowski’s personal awards include the Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two gold stars, Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal with three gold stars and combat distinguishing device, and the Combat Action Ribbon with one gold star.
