Combat Logistic Company 11 Senior Enlisted Advisor

Gunnery Sergeant Eluterio Melo enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on 21 January, 1997 and attended recruit training on 19 May, 1997 at MCRD, San Diego.  After completing recruit training he reported to the Marine Combat Training, Camp Pendleton.  In September of that same year he attended Automotive Organization Maintenance Course, Camp Lejeune where he received the primary MOS of 3521.  In December 1997 Private First Class Melo reported to Head Quarters Co GMED Twenty-Nine Palms.

In June of 2001 Sergeant Melo reported to MWSS 371 in Yuma AZ.  Were he deployed to Iraq in February of 2003 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom and returned in October of the same year.  He redeployed to Iraq in January of 2005 in support of OIF IV.

In March 2006, Staff Sergeant Melo reported to Recruiters School, MCRD San Diego.  In July of that same year, he reported to RS San Antonio and was assigned to RSS Austin South, where he was a canvassing recruiter until June of 2009.

In July of 2009, Staff Sergeant Melo reported 7th Communication Battalion Camp Hansen Okinawa, Japan, where he held the billets of the Battalion Safety Officer and the Motor Transport Operations Chief.  He was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant in September 2010.

In June of 2012, Gunnery Sergeant Melo reported to Marine Wing Communications Squadron 38, where he held the billets of Motor Transport Maintenance Chief and the Motor Transport and Utilities SNCOIC.

In August of 2013, Gunnery Sergeant Melo reported to Combat Logistic Regiment 15, Combat Logistic Company 11.  He presently holds the billet of the Senior Enlisted Advisor and Motor Transport Maintenance Chief.

Gunnery Sergeant Melo personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal 3rd award, Marine Corps Recruiting Ribbon, Certificate of Commendation x2, Meritorious Mast x3, Certificate of Appreciation x2, Letters of Appreciation x6. 

Gunnery Sergeant Melo is married to the former Venette Marie Martinez.  They have 6 children and reside in Chula Vista, California.
