CAMP COYOTE, Kuwait -- The Marines of Combat Service Support Battalion 12, 1st Force Service Support Group stopped their work in the Kuwaiti desert May 24 to pay respects to two of their fellow Marines lost at the conclusion of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Lance Cpls. Jakub H. Kowalik and Jose F. Gonzalez were remembered at a memorial service at Camp Tarawa, Kuwait.
Gonzalez and Kowalik died near Numinyah, Iraq as a result of injuries sustained from handling unexploded ordnance May 13.
