Lt. Col. Robert T. Meade, commanding officer, Combat Logistics Battalion 5, Combat Logistics Regiment 1, 1st Marine Logistics Group, speaks during the battalion sergeant major appointment ceremony of Sgt. Maj. Troy E. Black at Camp Pendleton, Calif., Aug. 16. Black’s previous assignment was as the sergeant major of 3rd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division. During his time with 3/7, he deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
