HMCM(FMF) Christina Wood, a native of Wasco, California, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in October 1994, and completed Recruit Training and Hospital Corpsman “A” School in Great Lakes, IL.  Her first duty station was Naval Hospital Jacksonville, Florida.  Next, she reported to Field Medical Service School, Camp Lejeune, NC.  After completion of the Field Medical Service School she reported to 2nd Force Service Support Group Camp Lejeune, NC, where she served with 2nd Medical Battalion, Charlie Company.   She had successful tours at Naval Hospital Lemoore, CA and Branch Health Clinic Atsugi, Japan.  In November 2005, HM1 was selected as an Individual Augmentee for an Embedded Training Team headed to Afghanistan.  In August 2007, HM1 Wood was selected to Chief Petty Officer, and completed induction and pinned her anchors on September 21, 2007.

 

HMC Wood reported to Naval Hospital Lemoore, CA, where she was assigned as the Directorate for Administration Senior Enlisted Leader.  In June 2011, she attended the Senior Enlisted Academy enroute to 3rd Marine Logistics Group, 3rd Medical Battalion, Okinawa, Japan.  She was selected to Senior Chief while attached to 3rd Medical Battalion.

 

She reported to Naval Medical Center San Diego, where she was assigned to Directorate for Administration, Operations Management Department, and then as the Department of Nursing Service Senior Enlisted Leader.  She was selected to serve as the Vice President, and then President, of the Chief Petty Officer Association.  In May 2017, she reported to 1st Marine Logistics Group, 1st Medical Battalion, Camp Pendleton, CA, where she served as Headquarters & Service Company Senior Enlisted Leader.

 

In May 2018, she was selected for Master Chief and frocked in a ceremony held on Camp Pendleton.  She assumed duty as Command Master Chief, 1st Medical Battalion, on September 24, 2018.

 

She holds a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, from Trident University International (Cum Laude), a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services Management and an Associate’s Degree in Allied Health Sciences from the University of Phoenix.  She is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy, Class 160.

 

Her personal awards include the Navy and Marine Commendation Medal (five), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two) and Good Conduct Medal (seven).  She has also earned campaign awards from various tours and deployments.
