Cpl. Robert D. Harrell, a disbursing agent with Service Company, Combat Logistics Regiment 15, 1st Marine Logistics Group (Forward), counts out a lease payment for an Iraqi homeowner Sept. 24. Harrell counted and paid out approximately $60,000 with more than 9,000 Iraqi bills during a 5-hour period. The payments compensated property owners for the Iraqi Army?s use of their homes. A team of Marines acted as advisors while the Iraqi Army supervised all scheduled lease payments without incident.
