Deployment Readiness Coordinator

On behalf of Combat Logistics Regiment -15 (CLR-15) Commanding Officer and 1st Supply Battalion Commander and their family welcome!

I am Carolyn Burgin the Deployment Readiness Coordinator (DRC). As the DRC for CLR-15 and 1st Supply Battalion, it is a privilege and an honor to be a part of this unit and to provide you with the tools, information, and resources you need to succeed as a military family. The goal of the Deployment Readiness Program is to support Marines, Sailors, and their families during their time of service, whether they are on base or off base, in the field, or deployed. As part of the command team, I aim to give you insight and peace of mind through knowledge, encouraging you to become an active military family that is self-sufficient, resilient to change, and an active part of a supportive unit and the community.

One of my primary roles is to be your point of contact for all official command communication so that you have access to the information you require. Through our family readiness meetings, unit events, official email, bi-monthly newsletter, and social media outlets, the command keeps families up-to-date on the activities and events happening in the unit. You can stay updated on events and communication by accessing our unit sites such as the official CLR-15 website (http://www.1stmlg.marines.mil/Units/CLR15/), our unit Facebook page (www.facebook.com/CLR15/), our unit Twitter page (www.twitter.com/CLR152 ) and our Instagram page (www.Instagram.com/clr_15).

There are many resources available to Marines and their families, both on and off base. For example, Marine Corps Family Team Building (MCFTB) has expanded their programs to serve spouses, children, and extended family members, through workshops that focus on relationships, communication, understanding military life, and coping with change. The command team works to bring these resources directly to you by hosting training and workshops, providing relevant and timely information, and making ourselves available to you when you need support or guidance.

Another essential aspect of Deployment Readiness is creating and maintaining a strong sense of community within the unit, especially among the families. In line with the Commanding Officer’s vision for Deployment Readiness, I aim to create opportunities for Marines and families to come together and build camaraderie. I also strive to empower families to be successful and thrive in the unique, adventurous, and challenging lifestyle as a Marine Corps Family. Families that take care of each other can better take care of themselves in times of need. Caring for one another and providing support is what community is for, and this is what the Deployment Readiness Program is here to facilitate.

I am grateful for the opportunity to serve your family, and I look forward to working with you. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns. Again, welcome aboard and please let me know how I can help empower you and your family!

Very Respectfully,

Carolyn Burgin
