COMBAT LOGISTICS BATTALION 5
COMMANDING OFFICER’S
EQUAL OPPORTUNITY POLICY STATEMENT

Equal opportunity is an integral part of our core values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment.
The principles of human dignity and equality, upon which our great nation was founded, are vital
to and interwoven in our Marine Corps leadership. These principles and values form the
foundation for our policy of equal opportunity for Combat Logistics Battalion 5 (CLB-5).
Leaders at each level in this command will establish and maintain an environment free of
discrimination based on age, color, national origin, race, ethnic group, religion, or gender.
Discrimination, to include sexual harassment, in any form is counterproductive to mission
accomplishment, and will not be tolerated. Those who violate this policy as well as those who
knowingly make false allegations will be subject to disciplinary action.
Any individual who believes he or she has been discriminated against or sexually harassed has
two methods for resolving an equal opportunity complaint or allegation through the chain of
command. Informal Resolution System should be used to discuss and resolve interpersonal
conflicts at the lowest level, when possible. If Informal Resolution System does not resolve the
complaint, the preferred method for formal complaints is the Request Mast process. The
Battalion Sergeant Major and the Battalion Equal Opportunity Representative can help you better
understand both the Informal Resolution System and how to file a formal complaint. Those who
choose to file a complaint can do so without fear of reprisal.
Leaders will ensure that every member of our command is aware of and understands the Marine
Corps policies regarding equal opportunity and sexual harassment, Informal Resolution System,
Request Mast, and reprisal prevention. They will further ensure all complaints are promptly
addressed, resolved, and reported.
Our core values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment require that fair and impartial treatment is
afforded to all members of CLB-5. When working together to achieve mission accomplishment
through teamwork, professionalism, and Esprit de Corps; we build a command climate of
excellence. SSgt Graylin Jamerson is my Equal Opportunity Representative and he is available
to assist you in any way he can. He can be contacted at (760) 763-6794.
