Captain Nogle is from Danville, Pennsylvania and enlisted in the Navy in 1989 as an Operations Specialist. After graduating from North Florida University, he was commissioned into the Medical Service Corps with a Master of Healthcare Administration Degree through the Health Service Collegiate Program.

Captain Nogle assumed the duties as Commanding Officer, 1st Medical Battalion on 26 June 2024.
