Sergeant Major Roberto F. Gonzalez

Sergeant Major Gonzalez was born on 21 September 1986 in Detroit, Michigan. He enlisted in the Marine Corps on
August 30 2004. He attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Paris Island, South Carolina. After graduating
recruit training he attended Marine Combat Training (MCT) at Camp Geiger, North Carolina. Following Completion of MCT
he attended MOS school at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri for Motor Transport Operator (3531).

In May 2005, Sergeant Major Gonzalez was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal and received orders to 9th Engineer
Support Battalion, Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan. While there he served as a Logistical Vehicle Systems operator and
Motor Transport Dispatcher. In January 2006, He received orders to Combat Logistics Battalion 1. While there he served
as a Logistics Vehicle Systems Operator. In August of 2006 his unit deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, while
there Sergeant Major Gonzalez was promoted to the Rank of Corporal. In January of 2008 Sergeant Major Gonzalez was
deployed with Combat Logistics Battalion one for a second time in support of Operation Iraqi freedom.

In July 2009, Sergeant Major Gonzalez received orders to Chemical Biological Incident Response Force (CBIRF) Battalion in
Indian Head Maryland. While there he served as the Platoon Sergeant, Truck Master and Assistant Operations Chief for
Motor Transport Platoon. In March 2011 he deployed with CBIRF to Japan in support of Operation Tomadachi.
In December of 2011, Sergeant Major Gonzalez received orders to Marine Wing Support Squadron 373, Marine Corps Air
station, Miramar. While there he served as a Semi Re-fueler Operator. In August 2012, he deployed in Support of
Operation Enduring Freedom.

In October of 2013, Sergeant Major Gonzalez received orders to Drill Instructor School class 1-14, Marine Corps Recruit
Depot San Diego, California. After completion, he received orders First Battalion; Company B. He served as Drill
Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor and Chief Drill instructor. In October of 2014, Sergeant Major Gonzalez was promoted to
the rank of Staff Sergeant. In March of 2016 First Sergeant Gonzalez was transferred to Drill Instructor School to serve as
Squad instructor. In January of 2017, Sergeant Major Gonzalez was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Gunnery
Sergeant.

In March 2017,Sergant Major Gonzalez reported to 2nd Battalion, 10th Marines, Battery E and served as the Battery
Motor Transport Chief where he deployed to Okinawa japan for the unit deployment program. In January of 2020,
Sergeant Major Gonzalez transferred to Battery G to deploy to Norway for Operation cold response. In March of 2021,
Sergeant Major Gonzalez was frocked to the rank of First Sergeant. Sergeant Major Gonzalez transferred to V28 and
served as the Company First Sergeant for Weapons Company. While with V28, he participated in the Unit Deployment
Program(UDP). Once he returned form UDP, Sergeant Major Gonzalez executed orders to Marine Combat Training
Battalion, School of infantry-East where he served as the company First Sergeant for Company H. In February of 2024, he
was hand selected to serve as the Unit Senior Enlisted for Marine Combat Instructor School.

Sergeant Major Gonzalez was promoted to his current rank in December of 2024 and is currently serving as the Command
Senior Enlisted Leader of Combat Logistics Battalion 13.

Sergeant Major Gonzalez's personal decorations include Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with 1 gold star,
Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with 2 Gold stars in Lieu of third award with a Combat Distinguishing Device
and the Combat Action Ribbon.
