A native of Evansville, Indiana, Lieutenant Colonel Lynch graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2007 and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant. After graduating the Basic Officers Course and the Logistics Officers Course, he reported to Combat Logistics Battalion 2, 2d Marine Logistics Group, in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina where he deployed in Support Operation Iraqi Freedom, Southern Partnership Station, and Operation Enduring Freedom.
From May 2010 to May 2012, Lieutenant Colonel Lynch was assigned to Marine Wing Support Squadron 274, 2d Marine Aircraft Wing where he served as the Motor Transport Company Commander. In May 2012, he was assigned as the Logistics Advisor for the 4th Brigade of the 215th Corps of the Afghan Nation Army and was deployed from October 2012 to October 2013.
In 2013, he executed orders to Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii where he was assigned to the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency. From December 2013 to June 2017, Lieutenant Colonel Lynch served as a Recovery and Investigation Team Leader and then the Operations Officer for the Expeditionary Support Directorate.
In 2017, Lieutenant Colonel Lynch executed orders to the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California where he received a Masters Degree in Operations Research. Following his graduate work, he executed orders to 1st Transportation Battalion where he served as the Operations Officer and Executive Officer.
In 2022, Lieutenant Colonel Lynch executed orders to U.S Marine Corps Forces, Pacific to serve in the G-4 as a logistics planner in the War Plans Branch and then the Operational Logistics Branch Head.
