LIEUTENANT COLONEL ZACHARY PAGAN

Lieutenant Colonel Zachary Pagan assumed the duties as Commanding Officer, 1st Maintenance Battalion, 1st Combat Readiness Regiment, 1st Marine Logistics Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force on 5 June 2025.

A native of Dublin, California, Lieutenant Colonel Pagan enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserve in 2007 while attending California State University, Sacramento. Upon completing recruit training, he was assigned to Heavy Weapons Platoon, Company E, 2d Battalion 23rd Marines to serve as a Machine Gunner. Upon completing Officer Candidate School in 2008, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant. After graduating from The Basic School and Ground Supply Officer Course in 2009, Lieutenant Colonel Pagan was designated as a (MOS 3002) Supply Chain Management Officer.

Lieutenant Colonel Pagan's previous command assignments include: Headquarters Company Commander, Combat logistics Regiment 15 (July 2016 – May 2017); Commanding Officer, Recruiting Station Albany NY (June 2020 – June 2023).

His operational deployments include: Operation ENDURING FREEDOM 9.2 ,10.2, and 13.2 in Regional Command South West, Afghanistan; Operation INHERENT RESOLVE with Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force – Crisis Response – Central Command (SPMAGTF-CR-CC) 17.2B in Al Jaber, Kuwait.

Lieutenant Colonel Pagan's operational assignments include: Battalion Supply Officer, 3d Battalion 4th Marines (May 2009 – June 2012); Regiment Supply Officer, Combat logistics Regiment 15 (July 2016 – May 2017); Executive Officer, Combat Logistics Detachment 5 (May 2017 – May 2018); Operations Officer, 1st Maintenance Battalion (June 2018 – May 2019); Regiment Operations Officer, Combat Logistics Regiment 15 (June 2019 – May 2020); G4 Materiel Readiness Officer, 1st Marine Division (July 2023 – May 2025).

His supporting establishment assignments include: Retrograde and Redeployment Operations Officer, Aide-de-Camp to the Commanding General, Branch Manager for the Inventory Planning and Analysis Branch, and Director of the Enterprise Asset Planning Division, Marine Corps Logistics Command (July 2012 – June 2015).

Lieutenant Colonel Pagan holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from California State University, Sacramento, and a Master of Arts in Leadership Studies from Marshall University Graduate College. His professional military education includes the Expeditionary Warfare School (Resident and Distance Education, both with distinction), Command and Staff College Distance Education Program (with distinction), Maritime Prepositioning Force Staff Planner Course, Intermediate MAGTF Logistics Officer Course, and Recruiter Management Course.

Lieutenant Colonel Pagan's personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (Gold Star in lieu of fourth award), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (Gold Star in lieu of third award), and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
