Commanding Officer, Combat Logistics Battalion 1
Lieutenant Colonel Tamara D. Cordero

Lieutenant Colonel Cordero was born and raised in central Florida. She was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in December 2008 after graduating from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a B.S. in Homeland Security.

Following completion of The Basic School and Naval Flight School, First Lieutenant Cordero reported to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 264, where she served as a Naval Aviator. While serving as a Naval Aviator she deployed to Helmand Province, Afghanistan in support of Operation EDURING FREEDOM. 

In 2014 she completed the Logistics Officer Course. Following graduation, she reported to II Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group and served as the Assistant Logistics Officer. In 2015, Captain Cordero transferred to 6th Marine Regiment where she deployed to Moron, Spain as the Logistics Planner in support of the Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force Crisis Response Africa mission. Upon return from deployment, she served as the Motor Transport Officer. In 2017, she deployed to Helmand Province, Afghanistan serving as the Joint Logistics Officer for the Task Force Southwest in support of NATO’s Resolute Support Mission.

In 2020, Major Cordero graduated from Naval Postgraduate School with a M.S. in Management. Following completion of school, she reported to Deputy Commandant for Programs and Resources, serving as a Defense Systems Analyst and Aide-de-Camp.

Following completion of her tour at Headquarters Marine Corps, she reported to Combat Logistics Battalion 1 where she served as the Executive Officer for the Battalion. While serving as the Executive Officer, she deployed to Darwin, Australia in support of Marine Rotational Forces – Darwin.

In 2024, following completion of her Executive Officer tour, she reported to Darwin, Australia, assigned as the Officer-In-Charge for the I Marine Expeditionary Force Coordination Element.

Lieutenant Colonel Cordero’s personal awards include Meritorious Service Medal with 2 Gold Stars, Air Strike/Flight Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
