Lieutenant Colonel Matt Hager

Lieutenant Colonel Matt Hager is from Fargo, North Dakota and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps in 2001 following graduation from the University of North Dakota.  Upon completion of The Basic School and Supply Officers Course in 2002, he was ordered to the 1st Force Service Support Group, Camp Pendleton, California to serve as the Supply Officer of 1st Medical Battalion.  

Lieutenant Colonel Hager deployed to Iraq as a part of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003 and during his follow on assignment as the Supply Detachment commander, MEU Service Support Group-13, 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit in 2005 completed a WESTPAC and second OIF deployment.

In 2006, Lieutenant Colonel Hager was selected as the Officer Selection Officer, Fort Collins, Colorado, 8th Marine Corps District.  In 2009, following his recruiting tour Lieutenant Colonel Hager attended Expeditionary Warfare School in Quantico, Virginia.

In 2010, Lieutenant Colonel Hager was assigned to the 1st Marine Regiment as the Assistant Logistics Officer and Supply Officer and deployed as a part of Regimental Combat Team-1 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  In 2011, he assumed command of Headquarters Company, 1st Marine Regiment.

In 2012, Lieutenant Colonel Hager assumed command of Marine Corps Recruiting Station Detroit, 4th Marine Corps District.  Following command in June of 2015, he attended Marine Corps Command and Staff College in Quantico, Virginia.

In 2016, Lieutenant Colonel Hager reported to Marine Air Control Group-38, 3D Marine Aircraft Wing and assumed the duties of Group Executive Officer in 2017.

In July of 2018, Lieutenant Colonel Hager was assigned as the Operations Officer, 9th Marine Corps District, Marine Corps Recruiting Command.

Lieutenant Colonel Hager holds a Masters of Military Studies from the Command and Staff College and is blessed to be married to Sara Hager.  They have one daughter, Mariah.
