Commanding Officer 1st Medical Battalion
Captain Jeffrey. J. Repass

Captain Repass is a native of Portland, Maine. He was commissioned in 1999 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

After Officer Indoctrination School, pipeline training and flight school, Captain Repass was assigned as Division Officer at Aviation Survival Training Center (ASTC) Cherry Point, North Carolina where he taught high risk training to all branches of United States Armed Forces, civilians, foreign military, allies, and National Aeronautic and Space Administration.

Following duty at ASTC Cherry Point, Captain Repass assumed duty as Aeromedical Safety Officer and Headquarters and Service Squadron Executive Officer at Marine Aircraft Group Twelve (MAG-12), Iwakuni, Japan. After his MAG-12 assignment, he reported to Helicopter Sea Combat Weapons School Pacific (HSCWSP), Naval Air Station (NAS) North Island, California where he served as Instructor, Aeromedical Safety Officer, and Department Head. After HSCWSP duty, Captain Repass reported as Director of ASTC Pensacola, Florida where he was responsible for the largest training facility of its kind in the Fleet with an annual student throughput of more than 8,500 Active Duty and Civilian personnel.

From 2012 to 2015, Captain Repass served at III Marine Expeditionary Force (III MEF), Okinawa, Japan. At III MEF, he served in G-3 Current Operations, including time as III MEF Deputy Current Operations Officer. He also served as III MEF Training and Readiness Officer, where he revised and improved the briefing format and method of the III MEF Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS) presentations, which is still utilized throughout III MEF.

Following III MEF, Captain Repass reported to Aircrew Systems, Naval Aviation Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), NAS Patuxent River, Maryland where he worked in acquisitions, in-service support, and as product team lead. At NAVAIR, he was a central figure in ongoing efforts to combat aviation physiological episodes. Following board selection, Captain Repass reported in 2018 as Executive Officer, 3rd Medical Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, Okinawa, Japan.

In April 2020 he led COVID-19 medical response on Naval Base Guam in support of the United States Ship Theodore Roosevelt.

Captain Repass’ personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (4 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various unit and campaign awards. He holds degrees in Cell Biology, Political Science, Asian Studies, and Illustration.
