Gunnery Sgt. Aquino deployed seven times and developed a severe case of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder as a result of his support in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He spent some time with Wounded Warrior Battalion where he learned skills to cope with his ailment. He has since returned to an operational unit where he intends to continue contributing to the Marine Corps and retire next year after 20 years of service.
