U.S Marine Sgt. Maj. Michael S. Ryan leads a group discussion as one of the mentors during the 1st Marine Logistics Group’s First Sergeants Seminar on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., March 13, 2017. The first sergeants and Marines selected to become first sergeants gathered to discuss their duties, responsibilities, to learn leadership skills, and how to develop professional relationships. During the two-day seminar they discussed the Marine Corps Separations Manual, counseling, legal trends, and force preservation. Ryan is the sergeant major for 1st Supply Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 15, 1st MLG.
