U.S Marine Sgt. Maj. Keith D. Hoge mentors his group of Marines on why their billet as first sergeants is so important during the 1st Marine Logistics Group’s First Sergeant Seminar on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., March 13, 2017. The first sergeants and Marines selected to become first sergeants gathered to discuss their duties, responsibilities, to learn leadership skills, and how to develop professional relationships. During the two-day seminar they discussed the Marine Corps Separations Manual, counseling, legal trends, and force preservation. Hoge is the sergeant major for Combat Logistics Battalion 5, Combat Logistics Regiment 1, 1st MLG.
