U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Jordan Perez, a combat engineer, 7th Engineer Support Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, receives the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal on Camp Pendleton, California, Feb. 26, 2021. Perez received the award after rescuing two civilian kayakers who were pushed over by a wave. Noticing the civilians in distress, Cpl. Perez swam 250 meters to help the two.
