U.S. Marine Corps Brig. Gen. Andrew Niebel, the commanding general of 1st Marine Logistics Group, attaches the Iraq Campaign Streamer to the Marine Corps flag during the 76th Anniversary Battle Colors Rededication Ceremony of 1st MLG at Camp Pendleton, California, July 27, 2023. 1st MLG has more than 8,500 Marines and Sailors serving in various capacities such as transportation and distribution, ammunition and fuel support, supplies and materiel handling, medical and dental services, general engineering, maintenance operations, food services, landing support, and various administrative functions. For 76 years 1st MLG Marines and Sailors have proven themselves, in both peacetime and combat, across the range of military operations from the wars in Korea and Vietnam to the deserts of Kuwait and Somalia and throughout the most recent conflicts in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria. Today, 1st MLG stands ready to provide combat service support to I Marine Expeditionary Force in any crisis or contingency and continues to firmly uphold the ‘Victory Through Logistics’ motto.
