For Lance Cpl. Nicholas H. Leitner, plywood and sunny skies mean another day on the job as a combat engineer for Combat Logistics Battalion 7 at Al Asad Air Base. Leitner, a 22 native of Trenton, N.J., and the other Marines of Engineer Company are finishing up work on a three-bay maintenance structure March 29, 2006, for the Iraqi soldiers of the 8th Motor Transportation Regiment. The 8th MTR is training with the Military Transition Team here to improve its logistics capabilities, seeking to become an viable military unit as its country seeks a national independence.
