Inside of the weapon mount, similar to the one he was in when the vehicle struck an improvised explosive device, Cpl. Jimmy D. Miller, 20-year-old machine gunner with Security Platoon, Combat Logistics Company 117, Combat Logistics Battalion 7, 1st Marine Logistics Group (Fwd), poses with the Purple Heart medal he earned while engaged in operations in the Al Anbar Province. After receiving shrapnel in his wrist, he was able to recover and fulfill his duties for the remainder of the deployment. He looks forward to going home to his wife.
