Marine GySgt. Michael McDaniel, a Los Angeles native, brings up the rear of an Iraqi patrol through the town of Habbaniyah April 29, 2006. McDaniel is a member of a small group of Marines assigned to Military Transition Teams, which are responsible for advising and training Iraqi soldiers as they work towards independent operations.
