080221-M-1588E-001 Explosive ordnance disposal technicians with Team ?Big Deal,? 3rd Platoon, 2nd EOD Company, 1st Marine Logistics Group, assess the damage of a Iraqi civilian truck after an improvised explosive device attack. The driver of the vehicle was injured by the blast and evacuated to a medical facility nearby. Team ?Big Deal? is located at Forward Operating Base Blackhawk and has an area of responsibility that covers more than 100 square kilometers south of Fallujah. The five-man team directly supports about 150 Marines with Weapons Company, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division and responds whenever a security patrol uncovers a weapons cache, unexploded ordnance or a potential improvised explosive device. They are scheduled to return to a Camp Lejeune, N.C., in March after a seven-month deployment.
