Marines with a Warrior Express Services Team from Headquarters and Service Company, 1st Marine Logistics Group (Forward), give out snacks and school supplies to Afghan children during a WES Team mission in northern Helmand Province, July 16-30. The children were very grateful and exited to receive some treats and a few pens for school. ‘They’re very happy to see Marines around,’ an interpreter told the WES Team. A WES Team consists of a disburser and Marine Corps Community Services specialists of H&S Co., 1st MLG (FWD). They provide service members located at remote forward operating bases and combat outposts a chance to get some cash to buy a few things from the mobile Post Exchange.
