U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Maj Ronda R. Kirkby, the oncoming sergeant major of 1st Marine Logistics Group, holds the Non-commissioned Officer’s Sword during a relief and appointment ceremony at Camp Pendleton, California, May 11, 2023. The passing of the sword symbolizes the relief of duty from Sgt. Maj. Stennett W. Rey II to Sgt. Maj. Kirkby. The ceremony represents the outgoing sergeant major of 1st MLG, Sgt. Maj.
