Col Collazo, a native of Arecibo, Puerto Rico, enlisted in the Marine Corps in April 1990. Following completion of the Basic Avionics School and the Avionics Technician School, he reported to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 14, 2d Marine Aircraft Wing, Cherry Point, North Carolina for duty. In 1992, Col Collazo was selected to the Enlisted Commissioning Program. He attended the Officer Candidate School in Quantico, Virginia and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant.
Col Collazo is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico, Bayamon. In addition, he holds a Master of International Service from American University, a Master of Western Hemisphere Security and Defense from the National Academy for Strategic and Political Studies of Chile, and a Master of Business Administration from Strayer University.
