Lieutenant Colonel Mathwick was born to a U.S. Navy family in San Diego, California. She earned her commission through The Pennsylvania State University Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps program in May 2004 with a degree in Earth Science. She attended The Basic School, Logistics Officer Course, Expeditionary Warfare School, and the United Kingdom’s Advanced Command and Staff Course. She holds a master’s degrees in leadership and defense studies from Boston University and King’s College London, respectively.
Lieutenant Colonel Mathwick deployed from Camp Pendleton, California with 9th Communication Battalion from February 2006 to February 2007 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 5-7. During the deployment she served as the S-4A, S-4, and Motor Transport Platoon Commander. In November 2007 she was assigned as the I Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) Headquarters Group (MHG) Truck Company Commander. The company deployed from January 2008 to February 2009 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 7-9.
After attending Expeditionary Warfare School from August 2009 to May 2010, Lieutenant Colonel Mathwick reported to The Basic School. She served as a Warfighting Instructor, Staff Platoon Commander (Fox Company 6-11 and Delta Company 4-12), and Company Executive Officer (WOBC 2013) until the summer of 2013.
Lieutenant Colonel Mathwick’s next duty station was with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Shortly after checking in she deployed to Spain as part of the Special Purpose MAGTF – Crisis Response, subsequently supporting Operation Oaken Sonnet. She then deployed with the 24th MEU to the 5th Fleet area of responsibility from December 2014 to May 2015.
After attending the United Kingdom’s Advanced Command and Staff Course from August 2015 to August 2016, LtCol Mathwick served with Combat Logistics Regiment-1 until selected as the Logistics Officer for Task Force Lion. That team deployed to al Asad, Iraq from August 2017 to April 2018, advising the 7th Iraqi Army Division as part of Operation Inherent Resolve.
Upon completion of the deployment, LtCol Mathwick served as the Operations Officer and Executive Officer for Combat Logistics Battalion-1 from May 2018 to May 2019. She then reported to Marine Barracks, Washington DC and served as the Quartermaster and Installation Logistics Officer until September 2020. She next checked into DC Installations and Logistics and served as a section head within the Logistics Futures branch. She served there until October 2021 when she checked into Combat Logistics Battalion-15.
