Lieutenant Colonel Amanda B. Martin

Lieutenant Colonel Martin was born and raised in Alto, Michigan. She attended the University of Michigan where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and was commissioned in April of 2006.

After graduating from The Basic School, she reported to Headquarters Battalion, 2d Marine Division in December of 2006 and attended the Logistics Officer Course. She served as the Assistant Logistics Officer before she deployed to Iraq as a Truck Platoon Commander running convoys during Operation Iraqi Freedom 06-08. Upon return from deployment, she assumed additional duties as the Company Executive Officer and deployed again in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 09.1 as a Convoy Commander.

In September of 2009 she reported to Combat Logistics Battalion 4 in Okinawa, Japan where she served as the Motor Transport Company Commander and led her company on exercises in Thailand, the Philippines, and the Republic of Korea. In June of 2011 she reported to 4th Recruit Training Battalion, Parris Island, where she served as a Series Commander, Executive Officer, and Company Commander. After Parris Island, she reported to 9th Communication Battalion in Camp Pendleton, California where she served as the Battalion Logistics Officer as well as a year-long temporary assignment as the Operations Officer for the Brigade Headquarters Group supporting MEFEX-15 and Dawn Blitz 15

In July of 2016 she reported to 1st Maintenance Battalion where she served as the Motor Transport Maintenance Company Commander before being assigned as the Logistics Officer for Task Force Spartan. The team deployed to Camp Manion, Al Taqqadam, Iraq from July 2017 to February 2018 in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. Upon return from deployment, she served as the 1st Maintenance Battalion Executive Officer until she executed orders to the Department of Defense Office of the Inspector General. While at the Office of the Inspector General, she served as a Program Analyst and the Military Assistant to the Assistant Inspector General for Audit – Readiness and Global Operations. In July of 2021, she reported to the Plans, Policies, and Operations Department, HQMC as a strategy analyst until May of 2023.   

Lieutenant Colonel Martin’s personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two gold stars, and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with gold star.
