Back to the basics: CLR-17 conducts land navigation course

Land nav. is an invaluable skill set and forms one of the core competencies of a leader. The purpose of the course is to establish individual confidence and proficiency in tasks associated with land nav. Each Marine was issued a compass, protractor and map. To complete the course, they had to locate six points within six hours.
