The USS Anchorage, with embarked Marines from 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, was off the coast of California conducting amphibious warfare certification training. The embarked Marines will conduct aircraft landing operations, live-fire training, martial arts and other drills in order to maintain their position as an expeditionary force in readiness.
