U.S. Marines with 1st Maintenance Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 15, 1st Marine Logistics Group, display the different production steps of a vaneaxial impeller fan at Camp Pendleton, Calif., Oct. 17, 2017. The original wait time and cost of the fan from the manufacturer is 36 months and roughly $1,500. With the 3-D printing process, the wait time is reduced to 14 days and the cost is $315.
