Lance Cpl. Daniel S. Armendariz displays the Purple Heart he received during a ceremony Jan.1, 2005 for injuries suffered from an improvised explosive device attack during a convoy through the battle for Fallujah Nov. 17, 2004. The 19-year-old reservist will return to his hometown of Abilene, Texas, where he plans on returning to college and pursuing a degree in business.
