The Marines of Engineer Company use the tools of their trade ? plywood, nails and cement ? to make life easier for the soldiers of the Iraqi?s 8th Motor Transportation Regiment, which is currently at Al Asad Air Base. Construction will soon be completed on a three-bay maintenance structure for the mechanics, allowing them to work on their vehicles sheltered from the sun, wind and dust that are all-to-common in this area, located in the northwest region of the country. The 8th MTR is training with the Military Transition Team here to improve its logistics capabilities, seeking to become an viable military unit as its country seeks a national independence.
