Marines and sailors with Alpha Surgical, Combat Logistics Battalion 7, 1st Marine Logistics Group, work with the Army?s 82nd Medical Company to provide expedient medical care and transportation for an injured Marine March 22, 2006 at Al Asad Air Base. The staff at Alpha Surgical handles the duties of both a shock trauma platoon and a ?Forward Resuscitative Surgical Suite?, manning emergency and operating rooms here. Since they took command a month ago, the unit has treated close to 200 patients, including Iraqi Security Forces soldiers and civilians, as well as several insurgents.
