Corporal John W. Harland of 1st Marine Logistics Group's food services, adds green beans to a plate of chicken that was prepared by the field food service system. The field food service system is a type of kitchen that provides service members at smaller forward operating bases throughout Iraq with cooked meals instead of reheated, prepackaged meals. The system requires 16 people to operate and is made of three shipping containers, two for cooking and one for sanitizing the food preparation equipment. The system is currently being used at such places as Camp Korean Village and Haditha Dam, and has gotten high praise for the quality of food.
