1st Lt. Matthew A. Thompson, 31, from Britton, S.D., professes his faith at Camp Taqaddum's Mainside Chapel Feb. 17. The chapel hosts worship services for Mormons, Catholics, Protestants and Gospel parishioners every Sunday, as well as Bible study groups and self-improvement courses throughout the week. The Chaplain Corps organizes the services and ensures all deployed service members and DOD civilians have what they need to exercise their religious rights. Thompson is serving as the executive officer for Kilo Battery, 2rd Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, which is currently deployed with the 1st Marine Logistics Group providing security for Camp Taqaddum and the surrounding areas.
