The company of Marine combat engineers left early morning to provide logistics and personnel support to service members at Forward Operating Base Hawas, swapping out a generator and dropping off five specialized utility Marines to operate the FOB's water purification system. The company also retrieved a downed Humvee before dawn. Combat engineers continue to provide support by emplacing force-protection barriers, building safe structures and repairing damaged roads, but they're also starting to demilitarize surrounding communities as Al Anbar province becomes more stable.
