AL-ASAD, Iraq (August 21, 2008) – Instructors of the Counter Improvised Explosive Device Train-the-Trainer course prepare to begin class here Aug. 21. The 19 Marines from many different units attached to logistics and infantry battalions, who attended the three-day course leave prepared to teach their own unit a regional specific CIED course. Since IEDs vary, depending on complex regional influences, each student is first taught a broad overview and then taught IED tactics specific to their area of operations. (Photo by Cpl. G.P.
