Salinas, 24, from Hialeah, Fla., is one of three corpsmen of 1st MLG (FWD) partnered with the joint hospital staff to treat trauma patients wounded in combat. As a level three facility, Bastion Hospital can treat more patients, and medical personnel here have the ability to conduct medical procedures that smaller medical facilities at other forward operating bases can’t.
