The Commandant of the Marine Corps Gen. James Conway listens as Staff Sgt. Joshua Jones, an EOD team leader with 1st Explosive Ordnance Disposal Company, 1st Marine Logistics Group (Forward), explains the various ways EOD techs combat the threat of improvised explosive devices as part of a tour of 9th Engineer Support Battalion at Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan, Aug. 20. During their tour, Conway and Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps Carlton Kent received briefs on some of 9th ESB’s capabilities including bulk fuel, water purification, utilities and EOD.
