Bio
A native of Lincoln, Nebraska, Lieutenant David A. Daigle completed graduate seminary studies by earning a pontifical degree in theology with honors from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C, He was ordained a Catholic priest for the Diocese of Bridgeport, Connecticut in 2003, and subsequently completed Officer Development School and the Navy Chaplaincy School, in Newport, Rhode Island in 2007.
His first duty station was onboard the large deck amphibious assault ship, USS IWO JIMA (LHD 7), which deployed to the Arabian Gulf with the 26 MEU in 2008 in support of OEF/OIF. In 2010, he reported to Expeditionary Combat Readiness Center (ECRC) at Joint Expeditionary Base, Little Creek, Virginia for a Global Support Assignment (GSA), deploying to the Middle East with the Expeditionary Medical Facility – Kuwait (EMF-K). Upon completion of his second combat tour, Lieutenant Daigle was detailed in 2010 to the USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT (CVN 71), which was in RCOH in Newport New, Virginia. During this time, Lieutenant Daigle earned a diploma and completed JPME-1 from the Naval War College (College of Distance Education) in Newport, RI. Additionally, in December 2011, he was sent on TEMADD/TAD duty orders to the USS GEORGE HW BUSH (CVN 77) during its maiden combat deployment to the Arabian Gulf. Subsequently, in 2012 he reported to the USS HARRY S. TRUMAN (CVN 75), and was ship chaplain during a nine month Operation Enduring Freedom deployment. From July 2014 to February 2016, LT Daigle served as battalion chaplain, 7th Engineer Support Battalion (7th ESB), 1st Marine Logistics Group (1st MLG), aboard Camp Pendleton. On 01 February 2016 he assumed his current position as 1st Maintenance Battalion Chaplain.
Personal decorations include the Navy Commendation Medal (one gold star), the Army Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three gold stars), the Army Achievement Medal, and the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.
