Maj Manning is from St. Louis MO and was commissioned out of Saint Louis University 15 May 2004. Following The Basic School, in March of 2005 he reported to the Ground Supply Officer Course Camp Johnson, NC in July of 2005.
After graduation, Lt Manning was assigned to 7th Engineer Support Battalion, Camp Pendleton CA as the Supply Officer and in Feb 2006 deployed with 7th ESB as the Supply Officer within the headquarters of Combat Logistics Battalion 5 to Fallujah, Iraq. After returning from deployment in Oct 2006, 1stLt Manning was given command of Headquarters and Service Company, 7th ESB while also serving as the Battalion Supply Officer.
In Oct 2007, 1stLt Manning was temporally assigned to the I Marine Expeditionary Force Advisor Training Group in preparation to deploy with Boarder Training Team as the Operations Officer. While in route the BTT was reassigned as a Military Training Team and assigned as MTT 2907 attached to the 29th Brigade of the 7th Iraqi Army Division stationed in Habbaniyah, Iraq.
After returning from deployment in Oct 2008 Capt Manning was assigned to Combat Logistics Battalion 11 as the Supply Officer and Non Combatant Evacuee Officer during the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit’s WESTPAC 09-2 deployment. Upon return he attend Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey CA for a Master’s in Business Administration focusing in Material Logistics Support After graduation in Dec 2011 Capt Manning reported to Marine Corps Combat Develop Command and was assigned to Total Force Structure Division as the Logistics Capability Analyst.
In Apr of 2015 Maj Manning was assigned to the 1st Marine Division as the Division Supply Officer. On 16 July 2017 Maj Manning assumed his current assignment as the Executive Officer for Combat Logistics Battalion 13 Camp Pendleton, CA.
Maj Manning completed Expeditionary Warfare School Seminar, Naval War College Distance Education (graduating with honors), Command and Staff Blended Seminar Program (graduating with honors, and the Marine Corps Logistics Operations Group Intermediate MAGTF Logistics Course (graduating with honors).
His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (2nd award), Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2nd award) and the Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
Major Manning is married to Jessica Mawyer Manning and they have three children.
