Lieutenant Colonel Foster Ferguson is from Louisa, Kentucky and a graduate of The Citadel. After his 1999 commission and graduation from The Basic School, he reported to 1st Supply Battalion, 1st Force Service Support Group (FSSG) at Camp Pendleton, CA for assignment as Officer-In-Charge (OIC), Training Allowance Pool, and as OIC, Intermediate Supply Support Section.
He deployed to Kuwait in 2002 with 1st FSSG (FWD) to execute the Maritime Prepositioning Force offload for Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). Shortly thereafter, he was reassigned to Combat Service Support Battalion 12 during operations in Iraq. Upon return in 2003, he became the Supply Officer for Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) Service Support Group 15, 15th MEU deploying in 2004 to Operation Unified Assistance in Indonesia and for operations in OIF II.
After his tour with MSSG-15, he attended Expeditionary Warfare School in 2005. For his follow-on assignment he reported to Coronado, CA as N4 Director, Expeditionary Warfare Training Group, Pacific in 2006. He then transferred to Marine Air Control Group 38 (MACG-38) at MCAS Miramar, CA in 2009 to serve as the Group Supply Officer and soon deployed to Operation Enduring Freedom in 2010 with MACG 38 (FWD) as the Executive Officer.
Returning 2011, he executed orders to Okinawa, Japan to serve as Executive Officer for Combat Logistics Battalion 31 (CLB-31), 31st MEU. After two years with 31st MEU, he transferred to 3d Marine Division in 2013 to serve as the Future Operations Officer, G-4.
In 2014, he assumed a joint assignment with United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) at Scott AFB, IL to serve as a Branch Chief in the J3 and later as the Assistant Executive Officer to the Commander, USTRANSCOM.
Lieutenant Colonel Ferguson holds a Master’s of Science from the University of San Diego in Supply Chain Management and is blessed to be married to the former Patti Borup with two children, Brooke and Jackson.
