Commanding Officer, Combat Logistics Battalion 5
Lieutenant Colonel S. A. Meier

LtCol Meier attended Officer Candidate School as part of the Platoon Leaders Class during the Summers of 2001 and 2003 and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in 15 May 2004. In June, LtCol Meier reported to The Basic School at Quantico, VA, as a member of Delta Company, 4-04 and subsequently the Logistic Officer Course at Camp Johnson, NC.

In May of 2005, LtCol Meier graduated the Logistic Officer Course and was assigned to Truck Company, Transportation Support Battalion, 2d Marine Logistics Group at Camp Lejeune, NC where he served as the Platoon Commander of 2nd Platoon.  While serving in this billet LtCol Meier deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 04-06.2.  After returning from deployment LtCol Meier was assigned to Landing Support Company, Combat Logistics Regiment 27 in February of 2006.

While with Landing Support Company LtCol Meier served as the Executive Officer and Operations Officer.  In August 2006, LtCol Meier was assigned to Headquarters Company, 2d MLG and deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 06-08.  While deployed LtCol Meier served as the Senior Watch Officer for 2d Marine Logistics Group from January 2007 to October 2007.

Upon his return LtCol Meier assumed command of Landing Support Company from October 2007 to February 2008.  In 2008, LtCol Meier executed orders to The Basic School where he served as an Instructor, Staff Platoon Commander, Basic Officer Course Executive Officer and Assistant Operations Officer at The Basic School.  Following his tour at The Basic School, LtCol Meier subsequently attended Expeditionary Warfare School in 2011.  Upon graduation from Expeditionary Warfare School, LtCol Meier reported to 1st Battalion, 6th Marines, at Camp Lejeune, NC, where he served as the Battalion Logistics Officer and deployed with Battalion Landing Team 1/6 in support of the 22d Marine Expeditionary Unit from February 2014 to October 2014.  In June of 2015, LtCol Meier executed orders Recruiting Station Cleveland as the Commanding Officer.  In June of 2018 LtCol Meier relinquished command and reported to Quantico to attend Command & Staff College. Upon Graduation in June of 2019 LtCol Meier reported to Combat Logistics Regiment 3, where he served as the Operations Officer, and June 2020 LtCol Meier moved up to 3d MLG and served as the Future Operations Officer for the Group.  In June 2021 LtCol Meier reported to his present duty at Combat Logistics Battalion 5.

LtCol Meier is married to Rebekah Meier and has two kids, Jackson and Grace.
