Anthony Phaire was recruited out of Recruiting Sub-Station Temecula, CA. In December 2004, He attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego. In February 2005, Private Phaire reported to Utilities Instruction Company, Marine Corps Engineer School on Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
In May 2005, Private First Class Phaire reported to 9th Engineer Support Battalion, Okinawa, Japan and deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and was attached to Security Platoon and was tasked to support of all route repair missions in the Al Anbar Province.
In 2007, Lance Corporal Phaire was reassigned to Marine Wing Support Squadron 372 and promoted to the rank of Corporal. Corporal Phaire deployed to Al Asad in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. While deployed, Corporal Phaire served as Corporal of the Guard for the base Entry Control Points and as a Squad Leader in the Security Platoon.
In 2008, Corporal Phaire attended the Marine Combat Instructor Course at the SOI-West. Corporal Phaire was assigned to Marine Combat Training Battalion, Company K and promoted to the rank of Sergeant. In July 2010, Sergeant Phaire was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant.
Upon successful completion of his Special Duty Assignment in September 2011, Staff Sergeant Phaire was assigned to 7th Engineer Support Battalion and was assigned the billet of Company Operations Chief at Engineer Support Company.
In May 2014 Staff Sergeant Phaire executed orders to Combat Logistics Company 36, Combat Logistics Regiment 35 aboard Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan and served as the Company Operations Chief. In November 2015, Staff Sergeant Phaire was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant.
In January 2016, Gunnery Sergeant Phaire was reassigned to Marine Air Control Group 28 aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina. Gunnery Sergeant Phaire was assigned the billet of Group Engineer Chief.
In February 2017, Gunnery Sergeant Phaire was selected to be the Staff Noncommissioned Officer in Charge for the Marine Air Control Detachment on the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit. Gunnery Sergeant Phaire led a detachment of 48 Marines to the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico in support of civil authorities for hurricane disaster relief.
In January 2018, Gunnery Sergeant Phaire deployed aboard the USS Iwo Jima with VMM-162(REIN)throughout the Central Command theater. Following the deployment, Gunnery Sergeant Phaire returned to Marine Air Control Group as the Current Operations Chief. In December 2018, Gunnery Sergeant Phaire was selected to the rank of First Sergeant.
In January 2019 First Sergeant Phaire reported to Company L, Headquarters and Support Battalion, SOI-E. After a 14 month time period, First Sergeant Phaire was transferred to Headquarters and Service Company, SOI-E.
In June 2020 First Sergeant Phaire reported to 3d Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment and was assigned to Headquarters and Service Company. From September 2020 to April 2021 he served as the Acting Battalion Sergeant Major for the Ground Combat Element on deployment with the SPMAGTF-CR-CC 21.1.
In May 2022 First Sergeant Phaire was assigned to Company A, 9th Communications Battalion. Following 10 months of service at 9th Communication Battalion, First Sergeant Phaire was promoted to Sergeant Major and ordered to report to Transportation Battalion,Combat Logistics Regiment 1.
Personal Awards: Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal w/ 4 Gold Stars, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal w/ Gold Star, and Humanitarian Service Medal.
